Six reasons to choose TWINAX Xtra herbicide over a generic pinoxaden

Healthy barley crop

Pinoxaden is a valuable tool for the management of Wild oats, Phalaris spp and annual ryegrass in wheat and barley crops, with TWINAX® Xtra herbicide being the leading choice in terms of efficacy and ease of use.

TWINAX® Xtra herbicide has been proven to perform well thanks to the product’s superior uptake by target weeds, even when target site resistance exists to other Group 1 herbicides.

Here are six reasons to consider choosing TWINAX® Xtra herbicide over a generic pinoxaden:

  1. TWINAX® Xtra has an optimised, built in adjuvant. Syngenta conducts extensive trials that have resulted in superior efficacy thanks to the optimisation of the adjuvant and its loading. This results in both efficient deposition on target weed leaves and better uptake, for a faster brownout.
  2. Widespread experience with TWINAX® Xtra has shown it has stable shelf life. Unlike other formulations, TWINAX® Xtra doesn’t settle out or crystalise during storage. So, if your spray programme changes, or you’re holding partially used drums from one season to the next, you’ll have fewer worries.
  3. Syngenta was the first to bring pinoxaden to market as TWINAX® and is now sold in countries around the world under various brand names. Being the first, Syngenta has an unrivalled understanding of this active ingredient and have invested more time than other manufacturers, ensuring users can manage grass weeds with maximum efficacy
  4. TWINAX® Xtra is formulated for all water types. Laboratory tests have proven that TWINAX® Xtra mixes well in both hard water and cold water. This means it will stay suspended in the spray tank solution, without causing nozzle blockages.
  5. A low-foaming formulation, TWINAX®Xtra is not prone to over-foaming at the fill station and is also compatible with many other products, giving peace of mind and fewer delays with spraying.
  6. TWINAX® Xtra includes a proven proprietary safener, which provides greater peace of mind when it comes to crop safety in wheat and barley.

TWINAX® Xtra is also an excellent alternative to ‘FOP’ mode of action herbicides such as fenoxaprop. Being structurally different to FOPs, TWINAX® Xtra can overcome FOP target site and in some cases, metabolic resistance.
