New Country Head of Syngenta ANZ announced as Paul Luxton is appointed Head of Asia for Syngenta

Syngenta is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Paul Luxton as the new Head of Asia, and Mr. David Van Ryswyk as the incoming Country Head of Syngenta Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), effective January 1, 2024. 

In this strategic role, Paul Luxton will be instrumental in driving Syngenta's growth and development across the dynamic markets of the Asian region encompassing Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Korea. 

Paul Luxton, who has successfully served as the Country Head of Syngenta ANZ since 2008, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in agricultural leadership. His tenure at Syngenta ANZ has been marked by significant achievements and contributions to the company's success in the region.

"I am honored and excited to take on this new role as Head of Asia for Syngenta," said Paul Luxton. "The agricultural landscape in Asia presents many opportunities, and I am eager to work with our dedicated teams to further strengthen Syngenta's presence in this crucial market." 

As Paul Luxton assumes his new responsibilities, David Van Ryswyk, as the incoming Country Head of Syngenta ANZ, brings his extensive experience and strategic vision to lead Syngenta ANZ into its next phase of growth. 

"We are confident that David Van Ryswyk will build upon the strong foundation laid by Paul Luxton and continue to drive excellence in our operations within the ANZ region," said Ioana Tudor, Head of Crop Protection Marketing, Australia and Japan at Syngenta.

“David brings a wealth of experience and knowledge having worked with Syngenta customers across the business for nearly 20 years. With a strong commitment to prioritising customer needs and a bold approach to innovation, David will lead the ANZ business to new heights,” said Ioana Tudor. 

David Van Ryswyk joined Syngenta in 2004 and has worked across different areas of the business from customer services and demand management to the role of Demand Planning Excellence Lead in Syngenta’s Head office in Basel, Switzerland, before returning to Australia as Head of Supply and Production for ANZ, and most recently in the role of Head of Syngenta Professional Solutions and Macspred. 

David grew up on a dairy farm in South Gippsland Victoria and has first-hand knowledge of the issues that are important to farmers today. He has formal qualifications in Rural Science from University of New England, Armidale as well as a Diploma of Secondary Education majoring in Agriculture and Science. He is also a graduate of the Association of Supply Chain Management.
