DURIVO delivers again in year-two vegetable trials

A second year of trials has reinforced DURIVO® as a highly effective seedling tray drench, delivering long-lasting Aphid control and broad-spectrum protection of other key vegetable pests.

DURIVO® (Group 4, Group 28) is a systemic insecticide. Applied as a pre-transplant seedling drench, it is rapidly taken up by the roots and translocated throughout the plant for lasting protection.

Following successful 2025 results, early 2026 trials were conducted in Pukekohe at the Vegetable Industry Centre of Excellence (VICE). Designed to test Cabbage and Lettuce during the critical establishment phase, trials aimed to give growers confidence when applying DURIVO®.

Proven broad-spectrum control

2026 trials confirmed season-long Aphid control in both Cabbage and Lettuce when DURIVO® is applied as per label recommendations by Eurofins Kalyx in Pukekohe, through to the last assessment date. Syngenta development trials had consistently demonstrated full-season Aphid control when DURIVO® was applied in line with label recommendations.

Trials also demonstrated protection against other key pests:

  • Diamondback Moth (DBM) in Cabbage: 5 to 8 weeks of strong control, easily meeting the 4 to 6-week expectation, further reinforcing early season value.
  • Thrips: 3 to 4 weeks control in Cabbage, and up to 8 weeks in Lettuce (final assessment point).
  • Greenhouse Whitefly: Up to 8 weeks of control in Lettuce (a new finding for 2026).

The Vigour Advantage

Beyond pest control, DURIVO® delivers a proven 'energy boost' right from the start. Treated plants were consistently larger, healthier and more vigorous during establishment compared to untreated crops.

With two consecutive seasons of robust results, growers can have even greater confidence in the consistency and reliability of DURIVO® as a foundational tool in an integrated pest management programme.

Growers are reminded to follow best use recommendations:

Rates: 15 mL/1,000 seedlings for leafy vegetables/leafy brassicas; 25 mL/1,000 seedlings for vegetable brassicas.

Application: Use correctly calibrated equipment and ensure the product is washed into the root ball.

Watering: Take care not to over-water immediately after application to avoid leaching the product from the cells.

Resistance Management: DO NOT follow a DURIVO® application with another Group 28 product on the same crop.
