Product recall: CHESS WG Insecticide (Batch # SIK71WG193)

Syngenta

Syngenta has supplied a small volume of CHESS WG Insecticide (ACVM approval number: P5783) into New Zealand that was incorrectly labelled with Australian CHESS WG labels.

Although the product is the CHESS WG formulation registered in New Zealand, the Australian CHESS WG labels include a number of use patterns/crops that are not registered in New Zealand.

We have assessed the potential risks were a NZ grower to use the product in line with the Australian recommendations.

While these uses remain safe, we have identified a number of ‘non-registered’ use scenarios that have the potential to result in detectable residues in harvested crops at above New Zealand and/or export market Maximum Residue Limits (MRL).

The crops where non-registered uses may lead to MRL breaches include: celery, cucumber, pumpkin, eggplant, leafy vegetables (excluding lettuce), squash, melons and capsicum.

If you are concerned that you may have inadvertently applied CHESS WG to any of these crops and would like technical guidance please contact Syngenta on 0800 333 336.

If you remain in possession of incorrectly labelled CHESS WG, please return it to your place of purchase for a refund or product exchange.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused as a consequence of this labelling error.
