Nick Williams is a Director and Agronomist for Cates Grain and Seed, based in Ashburton, the centre of New Zealand’s grain and seed heartland, servicing farming clients throughout Mid, Central and North Canterbury.
Nick’s understanding of the needs of his growers combined with an equally professional approach to marketing on the domestic and internationall front, has earned Nick and Cates Grain & Seed Ltd an enviable reputation in the market place, along with a nomination into the Productivity category.
Nick is a specialist in multiplication and production of Clover, Pasture seeds, Cereals, Pulses and Brassica’s. Nick has forged a reputation with Cates Grain & Seed ltd based on good customer service and fair dealing. He is entrusted with the livelihood of many Canterbury farming families in his day-to-day activities as a Production Agronomist.
Part of Nick’s role at Cates is offering a full package from the crop contract, agronomy, through to the final destination. Nick understands the value of working in partnership with clients to produce optimum yields of grain and small seeds, advising on fertiliser requirements, harvest & cutting dates, the latest weed and pest control from leading Agrichemical Companies such as Syngenta, to ensure that crops are grown to reach their highest yield potential for the geographical area and land type.
